REFLECTIONS

PTA's Reflections program encourages students to explore and be involved in the arts. Students submit an original piece, inspired by the annual theme, in any of the following areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, film composition, photography, and/or visual arts. Volunteers host an art night and organize and distribute awards.

WALKING PROGRAM
​
​
To encourage healthy lifestyles for our students, Golden PTA volunteers before school each day to encourage children to walk. Volunteers keep track of miles of individuals, classes, and grade levels. Rewards for walkers are provided at Student of the Month assemblies including checking off 5, 10, 15, and 20 miles on their walking shirts! Volunteers are always needed- sporatic or regular volunteering available.
YEARBOOK

Golden PTA volunteers take pictures of classrooms and submit them for publishing to create a book of memories for students. Additionally, they organize the purchase of fifth grade dedication pages and yearbook purchases for the whole school.
BOX TOPS & CAMPBELL'S SOUP

​
When students bring Box Tops from household items and Campbell's Soup stickers, Golden PTA members maintain a record of each student. PTA provides rewards such as books and money for the bookfair. This is a great program families can help with from home.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

​
Bringing books to students is a fundraiser Golden PTA loves to do twice a year in October (Fall Festival) and May (Open House). Each book fair is a week long and requires volunteer support to manage the store. See our Get Involved page to sign up for volunteer opportunities.
REINDEER LANE
​
At Reindeer Lane, families can enjoy many fun activities such as building gingerbread houses, picking up Christmas tree orders, and doing other arts and crafts. Golden PTA volunteers organize the event and operate it. To assist in this fun event, visit the Get Involved page for volunteer opportunities.

SANTA'S WORKSHOP

At Santa's Workshop, kids visit a northpole-like environment to do some holiday shopping for their families. Golden PTA volunteers prepare the store and operate it. See the Get Involved page for volunteer opportunities prior to the event.
OTHER FUNDRAISERS
​
​
Throughout the year, Golden PTA holds small fundraisers with local vendors such as selling popcicles and Juice-It-Up on campus; and fundraising days where local vendors give a percentage of their sales back to the school. Look for notices coming home for when these events occur!
KINDERGARTEN
​
​
To welcome kindergarteners to school, Golden PTA purchases spirit shirts as gifts at Back-to-School Night. Additionally, cake and juice is purchased for their promotion reception at the end of their kindergarten year.
FIFTH GRADE
​
​
Golden PTA purchases dedication shirts and assists in funding the end-of-the-year party to celebrate our fifth graders accomplishment of successfully finishing elementary school and promoting to sixth grade.
STUDENT STORE

Programs & Fundraisers
ACCELERATED READER
​
​
Golden PTA provides funding for this critical program which allows teacher's to track student reading progress while providing incentives to students. PTA organizes and distributes incentives such as gift certificates to local stores, pencils, and provides an end of the year party for students that have reached 100% of their reading goal.
